SPP2311 – Annual Meeting in Stuttgart

The annual meeting of SPP 2311 took place from May 6–7, 2025, hosted by the University of Stuttgart at the Institute of Structural Mechanics and Dynamics in Aerospace Engineering (ISD). The purpose of the meeting was to enable the exchange of ideas among members, promote professional networking and discussions about recent findings. The event brought together members from across the priority program for two days of discussion, inspiration, and collaboration.

The meeting started on Tuesday with guided tours of laboratories of the Institute of Structural Mechanics and Dynamics in Aerospace Engineering (ISD) and of the Institute for Modelling and Simulation of Biomechanical Systems (IMSB). After the official welcome, each research group had the opportunity to present updates on their progress and discuss current challenges. The day concluded with an informal evening get-together, offering a relaxed setting for deeper conversations and personal networking.

On Wednesday, participants split into parallel sessions: Principal Investigators (PIs) engaged in strategic discussions on the sustainability and future direction of SPP2311, including the role of continuum biomechanics in academia. Meanwhile, the PhD researchers gathered to share ideas, reflect on their expectations for the program, and elected a new PhD speaker.

Overall, this event proved to be a highly successful networking event with participants engaging in a lively exchange. The focus was on intensive exchange and generating valuable output. The members appreciated to connect, collaborate and strengthen the SPP 2311 community.
